Stable Strategies for Sharing Information among Agents
نویسندگان
چکیده
Information sharing is important for different goals, such as sharing reputations of sellers among potential buyers, load balancing, solving technical problems, etc. In the short run, providing information as a response to queries is often unbene cial. In the long run, mechanisms that enable bene cial stable strategies for information exchange can be found. This paper presents such mechanisms and speci es under which conditions it is benecial to the agents to answer queries. We analyze a model of repeated encounters in which two agents ask each other queries over time. We present different strategies that enable information exchange, and compare them according to the expected utility for the agents, and the conditions required for the cooperative equilibrium to exist. Stable repeated strategies for information exchange between two autonomous agents
This paper deals with the problem of designing a strategy profile which will enable collaborative interaction between agents. In particular, we consider the problem of information sharing among agents. Providing information in a single interaction as a response to queries is often nonbeneficial. But there are stable strategy profiles that make sharing information beneficial in the long run. Thi...
متن کاملPerformance of a Simple Cooperative Individual Situation Assessment (CISA) with Respect to Information Sharing Strategy Metrics
When situation assessment is performed individually by cooperative, friendly agents working toward a commonly held goal, optimal strategies for sharing information are needed. The best strategies are often domain dependant with respect to constraints imposed by the domain itself. Appropriate strategies for information sharing can be selected by looking at the overall performance of a strategy b...
متن کاملInformation-Sharing and Privacy in Social Networks
We present a new model for reasoning about the way information is shared among friends in a social network, and the resulting ways in which it spreads. Our model formalizes the intuition that revealing personal information in social settings involves a trade-off between the benefits of sharing information with friends, and the risks that additional gossiping will propagate it to people with who...
متن کاملInformation sharing networks in linear quadratic games
Francesco Feri Royal Holloway, University of London. SUMMARY We study the bilateral exchange of information in the context of linear quadratic games. An information structure is here represented by a non directed network, whose nodes are agents and whose links represent sharing agreements. We first study the equilibrium use of information in any given sharing network, finding that the extent to...
متن کاملIdentifying knowledge agents in a KM strategy: the use of the structural influence index
Knowledge transfer is a complex KM activity that integrates communication technologies with challenging social, cultural, and organizational issues. It is critical to effective KM systems (KMS) and the development of effective transfer strategies enhances competitive advantage. This study incorporated the theory of organizational influence to demonstrate the structural influence index within a ...
